Holiday Island

RJMI is honoured to have been selected to dispose of MV Holiday Island at our Green Ship Recycling Facility in Sheet Harbour Nova Scotia.

MV Holiday Island operated as a car and passenger ferry to Prince Edward Island for 50 years. In July 2022, a fire broke out in the engine room while she was docking at the Wood Island PEI ferry terminal. Unfortunately, the extent of the fire damage, along with the age of the vessel makes repairs unfeasible.

All of us at RJMI have fond memories of sailing on the MV Holiday Island for work trips and family vacations. While it is unfortunate she has reached the end of service, RJMI will complete the disposal of MV Holiday Island in a responsible manner.
